LaserTools

Free, practical tools for people who own, buy, or sell with laser cutters.

Why this site exists

Laser cutter owners spend a lot of time searching for answers to practical questions — will this material work on my diode laser? Why is my wood charring? How many pieces can I fit on a sheet? How should I price this for Etsy?

Most of what exists online is either generic "best laser cutter" articles, YouTube rabbit holes, or scattered Reddit threads. LaserTools is an attempt to give those questions clear, interactive, tool-based answers.

What these tools are — and aren't

These tools provide starting points and planning estimates. They are not certified safety guidance, guaranteed machine settings, or a replacement for your laser manufacturer's instructions. Laser performance depends on too many variables — machine model, optics condition, material batch, air assist, focus, ventilation — for any tool to promise exact results.

Always test on scrap material. Always follow manufacturer instructions. Always use proper ventilation.
